December 1, 2011 1 comment

Last November 25, 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of CITI Hardware, one of CDO’s established and fastest growing hardware chain. In celebrating 10 years of providing quality home improvement materials and/or equipment to Kagay-anons, they have also opened its new branch in Tablon to cater the home-improvements needs living near and in the area.

With its success, CITI Hardware now becomes a one-stop show for all homemakers! Everything needed for a home is available – electrical  supplies, flooring materials, paints, and many more! Not only that! CITI Hardware now offers a range of appliances. Indeed, CITI Hardware emerged from being a small hardware store to an all-in-one home  improvement company!

Happy 10th Anniversary CITI Hardware!

CDOBloggers and friends from the  media were there to witness the celebration. Biggest thanks to for the invitation.

BENMORE Blended Scotch Whisky is now available in Cagayan de Oro City!

November 20, 2011 Leave a comment

BENMORE Four Casks Blended Scotch Whisky is the newest whisky that is produced and distilled in Scotland. It is matured in four different types of oak casks (Sherry, Bourbon, Charred, and Refill) to achieve depth and complexity to match the standards of whisky drinkers, to give the harmony between mellow tastes and scotch aroma, including malt and peat aroma with the hint of smokiness and most importantly, to five you an even smoother Scotch whisky experience.”

It is made by DIAGEO, the maker of popular brands like Johnnie Walker. “Alcohol content is 40%. The bottle and box are embossed with the iconic stag that symbolizes leadership, superiority, and masculinity.”

Despite its classy and world-class packaging, BENMORE, unlike most whiskies, is VERY AFFORDABLE. A 700 ml bottle costs P370.00 only. Each bottle contains 22 shots that can be enjoyed on the rocks, with water, iced tea, soda/tonic, or cola.

It is now the number 2 brand in Thailand and is already making a mark in Asian countries such as the Philippines. The great news is that it is now available in Cagayan de Oro City. Last Friday, the BENMORE Scotch Whisky was officially launched through a press conference with its brand ambassador BORGY MANOTOC at Generations Bar and bar tour at Club Pulse and Tilt.

The Kagay-anons will surely love this product!!

Sounds yummy right?

That’s what we learned from Chef Hasset Go‘s ALL THE BARS Workshop at the Culinary Institute of  Cagayan De Oro earlier.

As one of the instructors in the CIC, Chef Hasset Go has a remarkable track record in terms of baking and pastry arts. He has been featured in many TV shows and magazines as the youngest pastry chef at the age of 18. He also experienced working in many restaurants all over the country and is seen as a celebrity chef.

At 25, he now owns MedChef in Manila and together with Ms. Maribel Pineda and Mr. Rey Sumania, contrived the concept of Dessert Strip in Cagayan de Oro City.

For 3 hours of learning from Chef Hasset Go, we are now inspired to bake our own delicious pastries. The finish products are just irresistible!

If you wish to learn baking and pastry arts, the Culinary Institute of Cagayan de Oro, the first of its kind in Northern Mindanao, is offering baking programs with reputable chefs  as instructors. Not only that, there are other courses as well such as the Culinary Arts with Holistic Nutrition and other short courses offered throughout the year.

What’s good about the CIC is that they are very flexible in terms of schedule as they held classes on the days students prefer. Even the working group can go for culinary arts on weekends.

It’s mission of providing globally competitive education, CIC provides for extensive courses with world-class facilities, ingredients, and programs that would provide the best culinary experience for their students.

Since May 2010, they prove to be one of the best culinary schools in the country.

There are upcoming short courses in the next weeks to come such as Basic Cordon Bleu, Chocolate Truffle Makin, and Cookies and More.
