Bradley Bascon Live at the Rodelsa Hall

For music lovers out there, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to miss watching this amazing young violinist. Bradley Bascon is coming to Cagayan de Oro and will play at the Rodelsa Hall on July 31, 2014.

He is very young but is already making a name on his field by becoming the 2014 Panel Finals Winner at the Violin Master Class held at the California State Polytechnic University and the 2nd place winner of the 2014 annual California State finals of the VOCE competition.

See you Kagay-anons!

The Season of HEROES

An invitation from Xavier University’s DULAANG ATENISTA:

In honor of our Philippine National Heroes and Rizal’s 150th year, we celebrate “The Season of Heroes” on July 13, 2011, 7:30 PM, at the Xavier University Little Theater. This will feature what DA will offer this season.

This performance is of free admission to everyone.

Dalawang Komedya

I was really excited to watch this play last summer because one of my second cousins is part of the cast. But it was postponed to June. Unfortunately, I got so very busy with work that I forgot that yesterday was already the Premiere Night. I wasn’t able to go! Good thing, there are still other play dates and I will still be able to watch this on Monday. So, here’s the play I’m talking about:

UWAHIG: Journey to the time when the epic of Man began

Last May 18, 2011, the Integrated Performing Arts Guild performed another play at the Xavier University Covered Courts. Here’s a snippet of their performance:

At the end of the performance, an open forum was made. The play’s director Steven Fernandez answered questions thrown by the audience about the play. The audience  shared the same sentiments at the end. The play brought us to confusion. We all have different interpretations of the play. At the end, Steven said  the play could be interpreted in so many ways and all the interpretations are correct. The meaning and relevance of the play vary from one person to another. He also pointed out what they are doing in the guild is to show the audience something new in the performances. Something unpredictable. Something that will encourage the audience to think. Something that will bring out the creativity of the audience.

That’s the modern musical play. Filipino way.

Live Bossa Nova at Thai Me Up!

March 12, 2011 1 comment

Thai Me Up is one of my favorite restaurants in the city because of the music. You get to hear jazz and bossa nova music when you dine-in which gives a more comfortable eating experience.  I usually go there on Friday and/or Saturday evening where they play the genre LIVE by their singers or bands.

Here’s a snippet of Thai Me Up‘s “Bossa Nova Live”:
