The Kagayanon Adventure Central : Asia’s Longest Zipline ! ! !

If you would like to experience an overwhelming high, and a different kind of adrenaline rush experience, you gotta try out the…

ASIA’S LONGEST ZIPLINE ! ! !

at the Dahilayan Adventure Park, Brgy. Dahilayan, Bukidnon, Philippines

It had been awhile since I had an adventure trip and my friends were really talking about how cool the ziplining experience was in Dahilayan. So when I get the chance to experience what they were talking about out, I immediately grabbed the oppotunity. It was on the 30th day of June 2010 when I tried this very fun-filled and thrilling experience.

Barangay Dahilayan in Bukidnon is just a 1.30 to 2 hours of private vehicle ride from Cagayan de Oro City. You really need to have a private vehicle or a rented jeepney (or whatsoever) to reach the place. From Cagayan de Oro City, we arrived at Camp Philips, Bukidnon. After which, we passed through a vast pineapple plantation (and the biggest in the Philippines, by the way) until we reached Brgy. Dahilayan.

When we arrived at the park, we immediately took pictures of the place and had our picture-taking.

We then got our priority number for the zipline rides. Since it was my first, I took the all-rides package for only P600.00 (150 m, 320 m, and the Asia’s longest, 840 m) !

While waiting for our turn, we took pictures again, shared our lunch, and watched the other groups in the different rides. I was really anticipating for out turn.

Then, our priority number was called. It was finally ours ! ! We headed to the place where they place safety gear on us and went straight to the first and second zipline (150m and 320 m continuously).

I was nervous since I have a slight acrophobia (fear of heights) but I was also very excited. 🙂

Now, the rides were great! You can see my VLOG (video blog) here of my entire experience. That includes the videos while I was ziplining the 150 and 320 m lines.

As I said, it was great but the most awaited part was the longest zipline, the 840 m ride. When we were already there at the top of the mountain where the ride starts, I had a sudden ill-feeling. My acrophobia strucked me again! I could not afford to look what was below and that very long, thin metal line. Fortunately, it rained and so, we just stayed there while waiting for the rain to subside. The ill-feeling did not leave me until the rain stopped and until it was already my turn. I was about to quit…but I thought that was just once-in-a-lifetime. How can I afford to miss it? So, I took my tiniest bit of courage, closed my eyes, until I was freed! I shouted loudly and opened my eyes! What I saw was beauty of nature. The cool breeze… the green surroundings… I was really flying! Now, my fear stopped and I just enjoyed the scenery.

It happened so fast and I reached the landing area! I think it only took me a minute or so. But definitely, it was a very amazing experience. Whoah!

Now I got my ziprider’s certificate : I CONQUERED THE ASIA’S LONGEST ZIPLINE! ! ! HOOORRAAAYYY!!!

But wait, it did not end there, we still tried the different activities there…

rope challenge

horse-back ride : my first-time

I forgot what is this called. You will get inside that giant ball, and you will be rolled down in a slope. It will make you dizzy crazy!  heheheh. 🙂

sight-seeing: loving the nature

Now, what are you waiting for! ! If you have a budget of P2000.00 and you’re with a group of friends, you will have a different kind of adventure in Dahilayan Adventure Park! For more information, you may visit their website.

I was actually with my mom and her officemates. I did not have my friends with me. I was one of the few youngsters in the group and I was not able to mingle much with the others as well. But heck! That was still one of the best days of my life! 🙂
